Know Your Target Audience

Marketing can be powerful when done creatively and professionally. Otherwise, it can just be a waste of time. In order to make marketing a powerful tool, you must do your homework and know your customers, clients, business industry and the economy. This article will provide five steps that will help you market your product, service or company.
The first step involves knowing your target audience. Create a list of people who you feel would be your target audience by going to a crowded public place and randomly passing out market research surveys. These surveys will help you analyze the general public, their interests and who would be genuinely interested in your product or service. As you study your information, pay special attention to creating your niche, specialty and customer service.
The second step involves studying your competition by checking out reviews of similar companies to yours. Compare the other companies to yours and see if there is any way you can improve your company creatively in order to make your company better. Consider changing either price, quality or merchandise to make it better stand out among its competitors.
The third step involves that you know accounting so you can handle business transactions efficiently.
The fourth step involves promotions. Create alluring displays, signage, gift with purchase, packaging, demonstrations, discounts, and free samples to encourage other people to try your product or service.
The fifth step involves sales. Position your product, service or promotional materials in the places where your target audience congregates. Perform the fourth step again by creating displays and demonstrations as well as giving out discounts and free samples. If you perform this step successfully, word of mouth should further increase sales in the long run.
